about

Continuing the now annual series of EPs, What The Rhythm Does Vol. II relishes itself in the glow of bygone raves on the countryside and jackin' house grooves.

Kickin' off the lot is a tribute to the era of UK raves dominated by labels like XL and R&S with a little LTJ thrown in. I'd Like To Know presents itself via two mixes, one emulating a more cleaner sound that artists carried when they got signed. The other—White Label Mix—is unapologetically rough and raw. Vinyl crackle from the breaks, 12-bit samples, and distorted 909 & 303 madness. The White Label Mix is exclusive to album buys only.

On the flip is something out of the Respect parties thrown in Paris during the French Touch heydays. Annulé bathes in dirty ASR-10 chops, deep filter sweeps, and floor filling jackin' 909 beats. Something that would make Bangalter have flashbacks.
